Be a part of making a young person a lifelong angler and lover of our natural resources. Get them started on Mentored Youth Trout Day. On this special day, youth get a jump start on fishing in PA's stocked trout waters. Maytour de forest spring - Copy
Tour-de-Forest- May 18 - 19, 2024
A rare opportunity to ride your ATV in parts of the Allegheny National Forest. Organized by and benefiting the Marienville Volunteer Fire Department, the Tour-De-Forest is a an ATV leisure-ride through the scenic Allegheny National Forest on designated forest roads and trails that are not usually open to ATV traffic.  The Tour De Forest is always scheduled on the third weekend in May and the first weekend in October.  For more information, head to their website.

Fish-For-Free Days
2024 Pennsylvania Fish for Free Days are May 26 and July 4, 2024
Fish-for-Free Days allow anyone—residents and non-residents—to legally fish in Pennsylvania without a fishing license. From 12:01 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. on both days, no fishing license is needed to fish in Pennsylvania’s waterways. All other fishing regulations apply.

Forest County Bigfoot Festival BigFoot
June 7, 8, and 9, 2024
The Forest County Bigfoot Festival is held in Marienville, the second weekend of June. This year's festival is June 7, 8, and 9, 2024. The festival celebrates the myth and legend of Bigfoot and features experts and speakers that entertain the festival-goers. Along with music entertainment, there is a large Bigfoot-themed craft show and food vendors. Featured activities include a Bigfoot Hunt, Bigfoot Calling Contest, Biggest Foot Contest and a 5k run. Lots of fun for the entire family! This is an event for believers and non-believers alike. Youth Fishing Derby      2024 Updates coming soon!

Sponsored by Marienville Rod & Gun Club, PA Fish & Boat Commission, Cook Forest Vacation Bureau, and Cook Forest State Park.
Children 12 years and under are permitted to fish freshly stocked Tom's Run from the Swinging Bridge to the Children's Fishing Pond.  Registration and prize give-away will be held at the Children's Fishing Pond behind the Park Office. All prizes donated by area merchants.

The 2024 Pennsylvania Firefly Events include the 12th Annual Pennsylvania Firefly Festival, June 28 & 29, Glow & Know Campouts, June 22 & 25, and the Locals Night, June 27. At all the events, visitors will learn about, and celebrate, the annual mating displays of over fifteen different species of firefly in the  Allegheny National Forest area, including the "Synchronous" firefly and the unique "Chinese Lantern" firefly along Tionesta Creek. These events are now available through lottery ticketing, only. The FREE online lottery application will be available starting January 1, 2024 through the PAFFwebsite or Facebook page. The drawing for the 140 pre-registered tickets will take place on March 31. You must be pre-registered to attend. No onsite registration is available. Wolf's Corners is the biggest little fair in northern Clarion County with a rich heritage spanning back over 78 years.   The fair is always held over the week of the Fourth of July and showcases many unique activities.  The longest running tradition at the fair has been the draft horse pulls held every year since our inception on the Fourth of July.  For more information, go to their website.

Forest County Youth Field Day - Saturday, July 27, 2024
Buzzard Swamp, Marienville
Forest County Youth Field Day will be held at Buzzard Swamp in Marienville, on July 27, 2024, from 8 am until approximately 2 pm.  Children ages 5-18 years old, along with their families, are welcome to attend. Each child under the age of 18 must be accompanied by an adult.

Through Youth Field Days, children are exposed to firearms and firearm safety with a chance to actually shoot a .22, shotgun, muzzle loader, and air rifles.  Children learn about fishing, tying flies, archery, canoeing, and are able to fish with equipment provided.  The day is spent out in the open air traveling to the many stations provided for the event.

Held annually in July, the "Toughest Show on Dirt" PRCA/WRPA Sanctioned event. Professional cowboys and cowgirls competing for points towards National Finals Rodeo. Bareback bronc, saddle bronc, steer wrestling, barrel racing, tie-down roping, bull riding. This community festival is held the third week of August and includes events for the whole family. Food, live entertainment, a car & motorcycle show, arts & crafts market, pet parade, costume contest, carnival, fireworks and grand parade.  For more information, head to the Indian Festival Facebook Page.

Now in it's 57th year, this annual event draws quite a crowd for its food and entertainment.  Get there early to claim your spot on Elm Street for the grand parade on Saturday!

A fun packed weekend is planned every year on the last full weekend in September with activities for all ages.  While the catch and release fishing contest is the star of the show complete with cash awards and prizes, there is also a kids fishing derby with trophies awarded for 1st, 2nd, and 3rd place winners, a parade with judging and trophies, bicycle give a ways, carnival rides, fireworks, lots of food and many raffles.  Find more information  HERE.

Sherman Memorial Lighthouse Tours- 2024 Update coming soon!

Enjoy one of Northwest Pennsylvania’s one-of-a-kind architectural landmarks. The Sherman Memorial Lighthouse, a unique project conceived by Jack Sherman, Tionesta businessman,  is available  for viewing as a benefit for the Tionesta Lions Club community projects.  Tours run continuously from 1 to 4 pm.
